Bhawanathpur :- The 19th free cataract operation camp, which was going on for a week, concluded on Wednesday. On the last day of the camp, 140 patients were successfully operated for their eyes. In this camp organized by the mine management, efforts were made to restore the eyesight of 1002 patients by performing eye surgery. This is the highest record for total operations in a single camp so far.
The mine management has been organizing free cataract operation camps since last many years. Till now, Bhavnathpur mine management has successfully operated on the eyes of a total of 11936 people to restore their eyesight. Under the able leadership of Dr. Vijay Kumar Ram, Additional Chief Medical Officer of Mines Hospital and under the supervision of female doctor Dr. S.J. Kullu, the hospital staff tried to provide better health facilities to the patients who came to the hospital for treatment and served them. Khichdi was arranged for the patients by the local women committee in the operation camp. Some social workers and voluntary organizations also gave packets of biscuits, fruits and snacks to the patients.
On the occasion of the concluding program of free cataract operation camp organized by Bhawanathpur Mine Group Management, Dr. Prashant Panda, doctor of Sai Netra Mandir and his team members were honored with flowers and gifts. Additional Chief Medical Officer of the hospital, Dr. Vijay Kumar Ram said in his address that it is a very pious act to bring back one's eyesight. He said that as long as the SAIL mine remains here, we will keep camping. To make this camp a success, Dr. Ram thanked the hospital staff, sanitation workers, people of electricity department, He thanked the social workers and all other people including the personnel of Central Industrial Security Force for their cooperation. Dr Ram specially thanked and thanked the journalists for promoting the program. On this occasion, Dr. Prashant Panda said that the staff here are very good. The arrangement here is very good.
